Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

Hebrews 13:2

Ushers

The ushers constitute one of the most visible volunteer committees at St. Paul: contributing their time and talent in serving in this capacity. Generally working all services, ushers are responsible for welcoming worshippers and providing logistical support while maintaining a subdued presence. The friendly greeting by an usher at a service may be a visitor’s first direct contact with a representative of St. Paul.

An usher’s primary duties for the services include greeting worshippers and handing out programs, assisting with the collecting the Offerings and cleaning/arranging the sanctuary after each service. While seemingly mundane, these functions are critical to the smooth flow and efficiency of these busy services.

Greeters/Hospitality

Christian hospitality from a biblical perspective goes well beyond setting a nice table. It involves having a welcoming spirit that is broader than what we usually consider. God's welcome of us and how we can extend a more gracious welcome to others.”    Rev. George Antonakos.

A brand new ministry at St. Paul : the Ministry of Greeting. A greeter's role is to welcome each and every member to church. Greeters will arrive a little early and stand near the entrances to the church, offering a handshake and saying hello, welcome, or good morning. Greeters may consist of individuals, couples, or families, including children.

This ministry does not conflict with the Ministry of Ushering; ushers would continue in all their usual functions. However, ushers may take part along with those assigned greeters when this function does not interfere with their other roles

Please know that this very simple act which requires no special training, no experience, no special skills and no regular meetings , however the geniune spirit of hospitality can set the tone for a worshipping community in a way that nothing else can..
